Works very well!

I'm using this stuff to get good reliable readings from a heart rate monitor that I wear during excercise sessions. It takes only a drop, and it works really well! Solves the problem of getting good steady readings from the monitor, especially when you're not all sweated up from the exercise. Cleans up very easily too. Also, because it takes so little, one tube of this stuff should last for a really long time!
Excellent Product

I also use this on my Polar Excercise Heart Rate Monitor belt for a smooth contact to my chest. I use just a small amount, and it works extremely well. It's not greasy at all, and I can wipe the belt clean after the workout as easily as if it were just water. Actually, it's the same brand that the Polar web site sold for the belt, and I can see why. It's a great product.
Works as advertised

I use this for my heart rate monitor while running. Before buying this, it would take a mile or two before the monitor would get good readings. Now I apply the gel to the sensors and can wait more than an hour before a race starts and the monitor reads flawlessly from the beginning.
Works great

I put it on my heart rate monitor before I workout each day and it works great - no more lost signal!
Gel for Walkaid

I use a walkaid which is an electrical device and was getting a skin rash. Applying the gel has eliminated the issue totally.
Good stuff, it works, nice big tube.

I bought this to bring the pads back to life on my Slendertone Flex Go Abdominal Toning System (Unisex) rather than buying new pads, which are too pricey. This did the trick, the pads are more comfortable with this on them due to better contact with my skin. Good deal. Get some.
Heart attack? Or just bad contact?

Reviewer: Ranty,
I was registering some crazy heart-rate spikes in the beginning of my runs with my HR monitor, and a bit of web reading stopped me from heading to the doctor with a printout (look Doc! 215 bpm!) to try this. Sure enough, a good contact because of this gel, and I show a nice, smooth transition from resting HR to workout rate, without the funky spikes along the way that are the result of bad contact between the HR monitor strap and my chicken chest.

Get this, especially if you are a chestmeatless little wuss.
Works great

My wife was having constant problems with her heart monitor. Two tiny dabs of this each time makes it work perfectly everytime!
Spectra electrode gel

I purchased this for use with a Garmin Forerunner 305 for running/biking. It works quite well and only a small amount is needed. I just rinse off the strap when I'm done. Since the tube is gargantuan, it should last virtually forever.
Great product!

Love this stuff! It keeps my HRM going & keeps it in place. Not messy at all & don't have to use much at all! This will last for a long time!
Excellent

I use it with my heart rate monitor. Better results from the monitor with this gel.
Does what it's supposed to do

Reviewer: Graham Stewart,
I'm using this with my Garmin Forerunner and it works great. Without it I found i didn't get a solid heart rate signal until after I got a bit sweaty - just a drop of this fixes it. I did find the nozzle on the tube to be a little wide for the quantities i'd want to dispense, but it's easy to spread it around on the heart monitor strap with your finger.

It has a very slight stickiness, but it washes off really easily and doesn't seem to stain anything.

Spectra 360 and Buh-Bump

Review Date: May 11, 2009
Reviewer: Robert J. Emmons, NJ USA
I have tried both Spectra 360 gel (about $9 for 8.5 oz) and Buh-Bump cream (about $7.50 for 2.5 oz) to improve the functioning of my heart rate monitor (HRM) chest strap. I prefer Spectra 360. Both products provided a good stable connection and heart rate readings. Spectra is a substantial clear gel that adheres well when you apply it to the chest strap. Buh-Bump is a thin liquid cream that tends to run and drip off the chest strap. Spectra cost me about $1/oz while Buh-Bump cost about $3/oz.

I need a reliable HRM reading because I use a treadmill program which sets the treadmill speed based on my heart rate. If my chest strap does not make a good connection, the heart rate reading jumps around, and the treadmill goes a little berserk trying to get my heart rate reading to the target rate.

Both products provided a good HRM chest strap connection, but Spectra 360 was cheaper and easier and more pleaseant to use.
Stuff as promised but not working for my HRM

This product is exactly as advertised, but I did not find it much help in getting my HRM to pick up a signal. So, my review is 3 stars. 4 stars if you just want this product and know it will work for you, 2 stars if you want it for HRM signal improvement (a very common usage). Average equals 3 stars!
works only 1/2 the time

I bought this to use with my Polar heart monitor because it's cheaper than Buh-Bump. This stuff is thicker, goopier, slimier, messier, none of which would bother me if it worked every time. I just wasted 10 minutes trying to get my Polar heart monitor to realize my pulse is not zero. Buh-Bump cream, on the other hand, goes on cleaner, requires very little to work, doesn't make a mess, wipes off easy and best of all, works immediately 100% of the time, every time.
right stuff, wrong provider

I ordered electrode gel to provide conductivity for my heart monitor's chest strap. this is a very large tube, one I cannot imagine exhausting even with daily use. However the tube came with a brochure from an adult sex toys shop and website. fortunately I was able to toss the brochure before my wife saw it. I dread what may be coming in my snail mail as a result of this purchase
