I am IMPRESSED......

Review Date: January 23, 2009
Reviewer: Marc D. Ganz, New York, NY United States
I changed my review from a 1 to a 5...here's why I am impressed. First, I had a Tanita scale; it told me my weight, body fat, water weight, bone weight, if my toe nails needed to be cut, etc. However, I could not read the display and as executive/non-athlete I did not need all this information. When that scale died, I went looking for a good solid simple scale. I liked the way this scale looked and the reviews on Amazon were good. Plus, the price was great. I got it right away, and it was great. Looked good, easy to read, and I liked the 0.2 denominations. However, unfortunately it stopped working after two weeks. I went to return it on Amazon and posted a disappointing review. Then the most amazing thing happened...this really happened...about an hour after I posted my review, I was contacted by the company. They read my review and apologized that my unit was not operating the way that it was supposed, discussed their high quality control and that this should not have happened, and then they sent me a replacement right away. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They are family run operation that prides themselves on customer service and providing people with a quality product. THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS! There are so few of these good companies left. I was very impressed. I am a very happy customer again and will buy other products from this company!! I hope you will too.
Perfect no frills bathroom scale - Accurate, reliable and good looking

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R15FLE7YQUJVGE Update (3/22/10) - The company was nice enough to send me an updated version of this scale with their step on feature. Ill hopefully be updating my video shortly, but long story short there is no more tapping to activate and calibrate the scale. You just step on and get your readings. Otherwise its basically the same accurate, consistent scale it has been for the last year and a half.

Original Review - I think my title says it all. I own other EatSmart products so I bought this scale with confidence. Its a no-frills bathroom scale with one user that is accurate and easy to use.

Operating is easy. You tap the glass to wake the scale up and step on....no wasted time setting up users (which my last scale had) or programming weight loss goals. The scale reads out to the nearest .2 pounds, which is a nice feature when you are trying to gain confidence and hit short term weight loss goals (every little bit counts to me). More importantly its CONSISTANT, which means I get the same reading every time I step on and off the scale. Nothing was more infuriating than weighing myself, stepping off, re-weighing myself and seeing a completely different number (by as much as 5 lbs!). EatSmart seems to have solved this problem quite nicely.

Style-wise I have no complaints....the glass top is much better looking than the stainless steel I have previously and it doesn't make nearly as much noise when stepped on. The thinner profile also keeps me low to the ground so I worry less about slippage after a shower (plus with the larger LCD I'm not hunched over to read it).

A must have investment for anyone looking to lose weight.
Finally!!

I am SO happy to finally have a bathroom scale that WORKS! My old Taylor scale was just crap. Seriously. I lost so much motivation because of that thing, it would give me different weights anywhere within a 5-pound "range" every time I stepped on it, so I never had any idea what I actually weighed, or whether or not my hard work was paying off. Drove me nuts!

Because of that, I put my new EatSmart scale through a lot of "tests" when I got it today. I stepped on it 5 times in a row, alternating between it and the old Taylor scale each time. The old scale gave me 5 completely different numbers, as usual, but the EatSmart stayed the same each time! I even tried putting the laundry basket on it in between weighs, to make sure it wasn't just "remembering" the last number. Nope! So then I tried drinking a big glass of water, and sure enough, the EatSmart registered a .6 pound increase. Fantastic! I'm so pleased with the consistency and accuracy of this scale. I'm feeling 100x more energized and motivated than I was yesterday, because I know now I'll be able to see the REAL results of my actions, good or otherwise. :)
Great value in a bathroom scale!

When I finally decided to replace the old analog scale that I have had for the last decade I thought it was going to be an expensive and borderline painful process. After doing a little research, I purchased the EatSmart scale primarily because the large display was appealing (I have a very small apartment bathroom with one small overhead light) and the price seemed right.

I have been nothing but thrilled with this purchase so far. The large screen allows for me to easily read the scale every time (even after I get out of the shower and the bathroom is fogged up). With my old analog I was always hunching over to figure out what major weights the dial was between. It also is very accurate (I weighed myself multiple times the first few times to test this) and has none of the huge weight fluctuations reported in the reviews of some of Amazon's other scales. Best of all the price was very reasonable versus scales with similar features I have seen elsewhere.

Highly recommended.
Excellent customer service, awesome product!

Reviewer: Benjamin Linus,
This scale has a very sleek design, and the large back-lit display is very useful! It's very easy to read. When I first received the scale, I had trouble tapping it and getting it to turn on. I would have to pick it up and set it back down in order to turn it on. So, I eventually contacted the customer support through e-mail about the issue. And wow, they are extremely fast at responding!! I received a call from them after about (literally!) two minutes of e-mailing them. The representative was really helpful and worked with me to get the scale running properly.

If you have trouble turning it on like how I did, you should first try to tap it with your knuckles (with a bit of force, but not extremely hard) or grab a tennis ball and drop it from 4-5 inches above the scale. If it turns on, then it's probably not turning on properly because of how you're tapping it with your foot. The area I now tap is slightly below the display window (above the center of the scale). That seems to get it to turn on every time. Also, make sure you're placing the scale on a hard surface. The scale is very accurate, and my weight doesn't fluctuate like crazy compared to scales I've had before. I've stepped on it several times in a row to test that out. Awesome product, awesome service! I highly recommend buying from them!!
Outstanding product!!!

I originally purchased this scale as a Christmas gift. When I received it I opened it up to make certain was in in working order. A VERY stylish scale, with easy to read numbers. I weighed myself 4 times and the weight was the same EVERY time, and I love the fact that it comes within .2 lb.
I ended up keeping this scale for myself!!!
Great price/value with an accurate weight every time!

VERY happy with this scale

Review Date: May 1, 2009
Reviewer: R. Gilkes, Los Angeles, CA
I bought this product after being disappointed with my inconsistent Taylor scale. I was very happy to find that this scale is:

1. CONSISTENT. I stepped on the scale a few times in five minutes and it gave me exactly the same reading every time. I repeated this test over the course of a few days with the same result every time.

2. ACCURATE. So as to ascertain the scale is giving accurate readings, I did the following test. First weigh myself. Allow the scale to reset to zero then put a known weight on it. Allow the scale to reset to zero again. Finally, step on the scale with the known weight in hand and check the combined weight. I noticed that the combined weight always matched the sum of the individual weights. I did this test several times using different weights and the scale passed every test.

3. EASY TO USE. To power the scale on, you tap it and this sometimes works. I find, however, that if I lift it just a bit with my toe and drop it, it powers on every time. To take your weight, just step on it after it resets to zero and your reading displays in big easy to read numbers. If you step off of it, it resets to zero, ready for use again. The scale powers off automatically after a short while.

4. ATTRACTIVE. The scale has a simple, elegant appearance and I like how it looks in my bathroom.

I have not yet tested it against my doctor's scale. Hopefully it will match but even if it is off by a pound or two, at least I know it's consistent so I can still be confident in its readings.

At a price of $28.95 at the time I bought it, I think this scale was well worth the price. 5 stars from me.
Great scale, recommended

I really like this scale. The design is sleek - it fits very well in any environment. The display is large and easily readable even in a dark place. The readings are very accurate and do not change over many tries. Very reliable. I don't find any problem with the scale. I higly recommend it!

Reviewer: K. Crowe,
Ordered this scale for its price and overall good reviews. It has a very clean look, easy read display numbers, plain-jane weighing (I *do not* want my weight to be memorized!), weighs in 0.2 pound intervals, good sized platform. Excellent reliability/repeatability. Liked it so well that I purchased another to use at a separate residence. Quick shipping as always from Amazon Prime. Out of the box the 2nd scale weighed just as accurately and reliably as the first. Very Happy with both of my purchases!

Bought this scale for Hanukkah and have been very happy with
it so far. Needed something I could hop onto after the morning shower
once a week to make sure I wasn't getting too off track on my diet /
exercise regimen. No body fat percentages, multiple users, or remote
access to turn on my coffee pot to complicate my life any more than it
already is. The scale is simple, accurate and fast. Best of all, and
the primary reason that I bought it, is its downright good looking. I'm
not the type of person that is putting a bathroom scale away after every
use, so when people do come over I don't have to be ashamed of the
plastic heap I used to have in there. It works great but looks better.
Nice features, sleek look and no hassles

This is a great scale for the price. It's self calibrating with good accuracy. Has a large backlit digital readout that's easy to see even without glasses or contacts which is good for that 'first thing in the morning' weigh in. Plus the design goes really well in my bathroom so it's nice to be able to just leave it out all the time.
Simplicity rules!

Before buying this, I looked into all the other scales with the body fat/hydration/whatever options. I thought for sure more is better. I'm just a late 20's gal who wants to stay in shape. After thinking about it and discussing with others, I decided to get something more simple, since the scales with all the other doodads in my price range were not accurate. So I chose this one. This scale rocks the house! It's big numbers and lighting help me see the numbers when I'm still half alseep in the morning. The white square in the middle of the scale you see in the picture is actually clear, which makes it very sleek and stylish. Just tapping on it does not turn it on, I actually give it a nudge and it turns on, but that is absolutely no reason to drop it down to 4 stars. I love it. It's 100% accurate (this scale, the doctor's scale, and a shipping scale all read within .2 lbs of eachother). And it's really nice looking. Forget "hydation calculators" - are you drinking enough and is your pee light? Forget body fat calculators, unless you're paying $$$ for hydrostatic analysis or are a supreme bodybuilder you don't need it. Get this scale, work out and watch the numbers change. And always remember, as you build muscle the numbers may increase.
Great Customer Service!

So I had the same problem that other reviewers were having with tapping the scale to turn it on. I left seller feedback on the subject and PROMPTLY heard from a representative from the company. He explained that its a swift tapping motion- if you take a tennis ball and bounce it on the scale, it will turn on every time. I was hitting it with the ball of my foot- so I literally just tried tapping it with my toe ... and it turned on no problem! I just tried to recreate the swift motion of the tennis ball (so hopefully that will help someone else having the same issue!) that and it is so rare to get such great customer service! I would highly recommend this scale and this company to anyone... the scale works great (once you get down the right tapping action) and the company not only backs their product but are there to help and are very friendly. I am definitely a super happy customer! Love it!!!

The scale that was initially sent to me was not working properly. I called the company and immediately was put in contact with an employee who helped me troubleshoot over the phone. When it was clear that the scale indeed was not working properly, I was fed-ex'd a second pre-tested scale that arrived the NEXT DAY. This scale works very well as advertised and attested to by the customer reviews on this site.

A very low profile scale with a large display. It is accurate as I've stepped on it several times and received the same measurement each time. It looks sleep in almost every decor. I heavily recommend this.

One note is that you need to drop your foot pretty good on the center of it to make it turn on

Well-designed scale that always provides an accurate reading without any variation--no need to step on the scale multiple times, etc. Display is easy to read. Priced about the same as the other scales available in stores, but much better quality.
A must for any weight-loss program, or for anyone else who needs to monitor their weight.

Reviewer: tsuke,
My experience with this scale is that it is consistently accurate and well made. To test it I weighed my puppy at the vets' on their big scale then I weighed her again on the EatSmart scale at home. It was exactly the same! I did notice that on mine instead of tapping it to turn it on I had to drag it a little on my bathroom floor but I don't mind. It's just a slightly different motion. I really like how sturdy the scale feels and the large display is easy to read. I think for the price this is a great buy.

I like this scale a lot. It's precise, weighing to the 10th of a pound, which is appreciated as I'm on a strict diet. Not only that, but it measures in kilograms too. (It was a bit startling to see the numbers one morning when it accidentally was switched to KGs. I'd lost 100 pounds overnight? So watch that tiny switch on the back.) The numbers are large and light up so they are easy to see without glasses, even for my aging eyes. Nicely crafted and attractive in any bathroom and it's not going to get rusty from bathroom moisture, because it's glass. Edges are nicely rounded to protect your skin. Looks like a designer's scale, it's so pretty. Customer Service for this scale is wonderful--they helped me straighten out the kg problem. I'd buy it again in a minute and other things from this company too. Great price as well.

I was impressed with all aspects of the purchase - the price was reasonable, good communication & quick shipping. I highly recommend this scale.

My husband and I are very pleased with this scale. It's easy to turn on - just tap your foot on the top and wait for the display to set to zero, which happens quickly. The display is very easy to read, even without my glasses. It's also very reliable - it passes the "repeat weighing test" producing the same results each time. I trust the results. It's small enough that it doesn't get in the way on the bathroom floor and I like being able to see the floor tile through it. We are both very pleased with this purchase.

EatSmart to the Rescue

Review Date: May 28, 2009
Reviewer: Raymond S. Roginski, New Jersey
My family had been without a home scale for at least 2 years when I bought the EatSmart scale online. It arrived quickly and was easy to set up. My only minor complaint is that the 4 AA batteries (included) were dead, so I had to put in my own batteries. Previously, I had been weighing myself on the Tanita scale at the gym, but that weight is an (over)estimate because of clothes and sneakers.
The EatSmart scale is simple, basic and easy to use and store. I keep it in the cabinet under the sink in my bathroom. I can weigh myself in the morning before breakfast and when I come home before dinner. I am confident it gives an accurate reading because I weighed in on the Tanita scale at the gym, drove home and weighed myself on the EatSmart wearing the same outfit and got exactly the same value!

This scale was rated by others very high, so it had an influence on my selection. I was not disappointed. It arrived from the vendor quicker/earlier than expected. It came with its own set of batteries, so I could start using it immediately. I am most impressed with its precision and repeatability. I weighed myself 5 times in a row, and it displayed the exact weight each time....down to the decimal point (tenth of a pound). Instructions indicate that it is to be used on a firm/hard surface, so I haven't tried it on my carpet, yet. I can't believe how much better this is than the old mechanical "spring" scale that I had used.

This scale is wonderful. It is a clear hard top that turns on with the touch of your foot. The weighing scale is very accurate. Step on it once and then step on it 10 minutes later gives you the same reading. Unless you go off and feed yourself or drink something. It should be the same as before.

After years and years with an analog scale that didn't work (it was 20 lbs off!) I finally waited, saved up some money, and bought this scale.

Not only was this scale very affordable... but it works! And the digital display is nice, large, and easy to read.

I also like that this scale rounds your weight to the tenths.

I LOVE this scale, and wouldn't trade it for the world!

Extremely accurate, affordable, good company, and easy to read.

I received my new scale today and "Whoa baby! It is awesome with a capital A." Having used a spring type scale with rotating numbers for years and years, I found that it was almost impossible to determine what line it was pointing to. Then today, my dream machine arrived. It has not only large digital numbers but can weigh to two tenths of a pound. I was elated to find that it came with 4 AAA batteries, so I could use my scale immediately. The only disadvantage is that it does not turn on automatically. You have to firmly tap the top center surface of the scale to turn it on. Not only is it a huge step up for me, but it is so modestly priced. The EatSmart Digital Bathroom Scale is a definite plus for someone looking for a scale that is easy to read, simple to use, and cost effective.

Was looking for a reliable digital scale so I could more accurately keep track of my weight loss. After reading reviews for this scale, I decided to give it a try...and I'm glad I did! Very accurate! I hopped on and off several times (letting it reset in between each weigh in) and each time, the number was the same. On my old scale, my weight would vary by as much as 3 lbs within a matter of minutes.
Very happy I trusted the reviews on this one! Price was right too!

I bought this scale based on the reviews. I rely heavily on reviews when I buy something like this so wanted to give my review to help others. I had a scale that was digital, but every time I got on it, the weight was different, by two or three pounds. It got to the point that I didn't trust the scale, so wanted to buy a new one that was accurate. I believe I found that in this scale. It was a little hard to take, when I got on the new one and I weighed 5 lbs more than the old scale, but every time I got on it, I weighed exactly the same. I put a 10 lb bag of unopened flour on it, and it weighed exactly 10 lbs. I went to the doctor last week and the weight on the doctor's scale was the same as this scale. If you want to know what you really weigh, I would suggest getting this scale.

This EatSmart Digital scale is splendid. It's elegantly designed and it gives accurate readings in large numbers that stay lit for three or four seconds after you step off.

I bought this digital EatSmart scale to replace a pretty large Salter spring scale that I chose originally because it needs no batteries. What I discovered though was that the spring scale's dial sweeps over a full three hundred pound index. This means that the lines are extremely close together, especially when viewed from five or six feet, looking down at the readout. It also means that you can mistake the reading by one or two pounds. The EatSmart scale is compact, accurate, consistent and an excellent value.

This scale works great. My old analog scale was usually a couple pounds off and always vague. It really helps keep me motivated for weight loss now that I have exact, accurate numbers to look at; I can't fool myself into thinking I'm trying hard enough when I'm not. My eyesight is terrible, and I usually weigh myself before I put my contacts on, so the large luminous digital display is much appreciated.
Second Try Works Like a Charm

Reviewer: S. Turner, Chicago, IL
I'll preface this by saying that my first scale received by EatSmart didn't seem to function properly. Had some issues with capturing the weight by a large margin and I'm chalking it up to just being a dud. This happens in all forms of electronics. Thankfully they proactively sent out a replacement scale that has worked great.

First, as you can see it's an attractive scale. The numbers are real big if you're someone with poor eyesight or not looking to strain too early in the morning. The glass fits any decor and gives it a modern look. It's also not real heavy and is thin enough to fit standing up in corners or crevices of the bathroom.

As for accuracy, this one has been as accurate as I've seen from a digital scale. I tested some weights I had and they match up accurately and give the same reading each time I've added them to the scale or held them while on the scale. Another nice aspect is that it seems to lock in the number quickly instead of bouncing up and down like some others can do for 30 seconds. I also haven't noticed huge fluctuations like other scales can have.

My only gripes which is minor is that if you move the scale a bit, it sort of needs to be self-calibrated. It does it on it's own and gives a C signal on the scale, but if you aren't aware of this, you may think you've added an extra 5 pounds from the previous day. Just step off, give it a minute, and try again. Mind you this is only if you've really moved the thing such as picking it up, turning it around, and carrying it with you. I slide it in and out in the bathroom and never have a calibration issue.

Overall it's arguably the most accurate digital scale I've ever had and one of the most affordable on the site. Might not have some of the bells and whistles others tout, but if you're just looking for an accurate weight reading, this is a great choice.

After experiencing a problem with the scale while under warranty, I want to thank the EatSmart team for outstanding customer service for quickly getting me a replacement scale. The new scale only requires that you step on it to get a reading. I was impressed from day one with my first EatSmart scale and the consistent weight readings. Step on it 10 times in a row, and I would get exactly the same reading. It was so frustrating with my old scale (not EatSmart) and the variations from one minute to the next. My EatSmart scale is 'spot on' with my doctors professional medical scale that probably costs $1000 or more.

The scale has a large font, easy-to-read backlit display which measures to a tenth of a pound. You also have the option of measuring in kilograms or stones which requires the flip of a small switch underneath the scale. Two AAA batteries are conveniently included with the product. So far, the measurements have been very consistent and accurate after I've tested it using known weights of various sizes.

The scale needs a good/gentle nudge to turn on, but I see this as a plus because if it were turning on with every microscopic jar, then the battery life would quickly deplete. Also, the reading holds for the perfect amount of time - enough time to allow for the recording your weight if you're doing so, but not *so* long that other people run the risk of seeing the readout if you need to leave the room. It does well in preserving battery life.

So in conclusion, I would highly recommend this product to my friends and family and I would not hesistant to buy another one when/if I have to retire the scale I currently have. I only have positive reviews.

This scale is amazing. Much better than a physician office type balance scale we used before. Repeat weights (same time; same circumstances) will be identical. My son weighed and then emptied his pockets. The weight was absolutely accurate.

I have had one problem: the scale is slow to wake up, kinda like a teen-ager. :-) Instead of tapping, we have to kick the side of it to scoot it across floor quite firmly. Then it works sufficiently. (Instructions say tap.) Also once in a while, it will be slow to read. I have called the company but have not heard back. Still, I give this scale 5 stars.

My background leads me to wonder if this scale is marketed to physician offices, who in this economy, are also striving to cut their overhead. (Just don't raise price for the rest of us!) For home, at this price, it is reasonable to have a scale of this quality in each bathroom.
I'd give it 10 stars

I can't say enough about this scale. It's precise. It's consistent. It's easy to use and easy to read. It's affordable. I've had it since April of 2009 and it has not disappointed me.
A light tap is all it takes to turn it on. Other scales, forget it. You have to lift them off the ground with your foot and let them drop a few inches in order to turn them on.
Try taking 5 readings in a row and getting the same reading with any other scale. This one will be consistent every time! I've never seen it happen with other expensive scales, and believe me, I've tried quite a few.
I love the display. In the morning, when the last thing you want is that obnoxious bright light in your bathroom, the display allows you to read your results in the dark or with the lights dimmed because it has a beautiful blue-lit display and shows large digits.
Speaking of beautiful, it really is! The design is simple and contemporary. It will fit into any bathroom decor.
But most importantly, let talk about customer service. Good customer service is hard to come by these days. They have superior customer service. I literally just got off the phone with them in addressing a question about my scale. It is rare to encounter such helpful people.
I strongly recommend this scale and in fact I'm looking into purchasing their kitchen scale as well.
Accurate but rap instead of tap

Review Date: August 20, 2009
Reviewer: Allan R. Wieting,
The scale is very accurate and repeatable. However, it requires more than a "tap" with your foot to activate it per the instructions. The company told me that they check the activation by dropping a tennis ball from 5 inches onto the surface. This works. It activates easier with the heel of a shoe than with a bare foot heel. I activate mine with a good rap with my bare heel right in the middle of the scale and it works fine. It takes a sharp blow from a non-attenuating object ( something hard or rebounds away so the surface is free to move and activate the electronics). I also like the hold on the display so you can read your weight after stepping off.
Great scale, great price!

I bought this scale when my Taylor digital scale started to kick the bucket. It wasn't completely broken but if I put hand weights on it they would read 1/2 lb - 1 lb above/below the actual weight. I had an apt w/ the dr the other day and their scale (with clothes on) read I was 2lbs less then the Taylor scale at home (with clothes off...sorry, TMI!) OK, so I needed a new scale.

I bought the EatSmart Digital Scale from Amazon b/c of all the high reviews. When it arrived I put both my old Taylor scale and the EatSmart scale side by side. I weighed myself & my husband several times and found the standard deviation was much lower with the EatSmart scale (a good thing!!) So A++++ for the scale.

Furthermore, I had two separate dr's apts after purchasing the scale and found that the EatSmart scale was right on target with what the two different dr office scales were reading. Additionally, it was on target with my scale at the gym.

In closing, if you are looking for a VERY ACCURATE read from a body weight scale this is the scale for you! I am happy I found it. :)

This product is solid and does what it does, very well. It's proof that you don't ever need to spend more than $30 to buy a quality, digital scale.

This company is family-run and their customer support is phenomenal. I thought my product was defective because it wouldn't automatically turn on by simply standing on it (didn't know you were supposed to tap it first), so I emailed them and they got back to me within hours. They explained how to operate it (my mistake for not reading the instructions carefully) and it worked. They even offered to replace it if it were defective, which it wasn't.

Overall, a great experience. I definitely recommend this product and these guys.

I just received my scale and when I stepped on it could not believe that I had lost as much weight as it indicated. I then put a 5 pound of flour on the scale and it weighed 4.8 pounds. I checked this on my kitchen food scale and the flour weighed the stated 5 pounds. This meant (I thought) that my new scale would be 8 pounds off at 200 pounds of weight. I was going to immediately print out a return label and send back. Instead I contacted the manufacturer via email and received an immediate call back. It was explained to me that the scale is not accurate under 11 pounds. So I got on the scale, took my weight and THEN held the flour. My new scale was exactly right on. I was told by the manufacturer that they would do whatever was needed to remedy the problem.

I like the clean look of the scale and the large digital numbers.

I highly recommend the scale and the company.

When my old scale started giving wildly different readings every time I stepped on it recently I decided it was time to get a new scale. I was shocked to find that it is extremely difficult to get a digital scale that gives consistent readings these days. As someone who is trying to lose weight it is very frustrating not to be able to get consistent readings as you can't tell how you are doing since the scale might be wrong. The first scale I tried was the Weight Watchers scale. The reviews were mixed -- some said it was extremely accurate but just as many said it gave wildly different readings every time you stepped on it (variances of as much to 4 pounds!!!) I figured this was a Weight Watchers product and so it had to be accurate so I bought one. When I got it I stepped on it a few times and got totally different readings. In fact, it was next to impossible to get the same reading twice in a row. I liked the fact that the WW scale had body fat and bone mass readings so I returned the WW scale and ordered a Thinner scale that had the same functions. Well, it turned out it was pretty much the same scale as the WW one -- they were both made my ConAir even though they had different brand names. This scale only varied by a pound or two but it was still next to impossible to get the same reading twice. Totally frustrated, I went to Bed Bath & Beyond and tried out a bunch of different scales there. Most of them did not give consistent readings but one did. This one was made by HoMedics and it gave the same reading all 4 times I stepped on it at the store so I bought it and brought it home. I set it up and it gave consistent readings and I was happy for about two weeks until I got on my scale one morning and weighed a hundred pounds less than the night before!!! I figured maybe I had just been using it too much (I'm obsessed with my weight so I check it all the time) and that it just needed a new battery so I went out and got a new one and put it in. Guess what? The scale wouldn't even turn on! I checked the battery installation several times but I had it right and the scale was just plain dead. I returned and got my money back and then I went online in search of something reliable and I found the EatSmart scale. 99.9% of the reviews for this scale were positive and everyone said it gave consistent readings so I decided to order it. It came a few days later and I set it up and gave it a test run. Every single time I stepped on it I got the same reading. Then I drank some water and got on it again just to make sure it wasn't "remembering" my weight and I had gained .4 pounds. This scale has been totally consistent for the month I have had it and I have been able to track my weight loss effectively. A lot of people complained that the scale is hard to turn on and I had the same experience -- I definitely have to stomp on it a bit to get it to turn on but it's not that big of a deal and if that's what it takes to get consistent readings I'm willing to overlook that minor flaw. Another thing I like about this scale is that it uses AAA batteries rather than a Lithium cell. I had a heck of a time finding a replacement for my HoMedics scale when it died and the only place that had one was Radio Shack. I use AAA batteries for other things so I have them around and when my scale tells me it is low on batteries it'll be a quick task to change the batteries and get my scale working again. All in all this is a great product and the EatSmart team stands behind it -- this has a 2 year warranty and they monitor reviews on Amazon and encourage people to write their own reviews so that they know what needs improvement and so that consumers will spread the word about this great product. Buy this scale.... you won't be sorry.
Perfect choice to replace a 30+ year old bathroom scale

I hold on to things for as long as they work, so when it was finally time to replace my old (old) bathroom scale, I wanted something reliable, attractive, digital, accurate, and reasonably priced. After reading the reviews from others, I chose this digital scale from EatSmart and am VERY pleased with the decision. It took me a few tries to learn how to tap the top to turn the scale on, but now that I have the hang of it, I'm impressed. Once activated, it takes only a couple of seconds to calibrate & be ready to weigh. I also like how it stays on a for mere 10 seconds or so after use before turning off, conserving battery power. I would definitely recommend this bathroom scale to others, plus I'll be checking out other EatSmart products to see what they offer.

I had a scale that was 20 years old and was frustrated that it weighed 10 lbs lighter than it should, gave different results depending on where I stood on it and never gave the same reading twice if I stepped off and on a couple of times. I wanted one that would be reliable and consistent and I am really glad that I purchased the EatSmart Digital Bathroom Scale from Amazon. Not only does it match the colors in my bathroom, but it is easy to operate and gives consistent results. I am diligently working on losing weight and actually look forward to using the scale. I recommend this one to anyone who wants an attractive, reliable and easy to use scale. It took me 5 minutes to open the box, insert the batteries, read how to turn it on and put it in my bathroom.

Having gone through several other scales, I can say this is the winner. The readings are uncannily reproducible to the 0.2 lb level of precision, the numbers are easy to read even by this presbyopic person without glasses on, and the scale has a sleek, modern appearance. To top that off (literally), the glass top is a cinch to clean or from which to mop up splashes -- no more rusty blotches will appear as on steel-topped scales. A fine product.

I bought these scales for my Mom. She had an old digital scale as did I. The problem with both our scales was that you could step on them one time and get one reading and step off and back on and get another. These scales simply don't do that. They are very very consistent. Additionally, we have both recently been to the doctor and these scales were spot on with what our doctors weights showed.

My biggest dilemma in choosing a scale was how much do I have to spend to get a good, reliable, consistently accurate scale. I took a chance based on the really strong feedback and I'm not disappointed.

The only one thing that isn't perfect about these scales is how you "turn it on". You don't just tap the top as the instructions suggest - I can never get that to work. What I do is use a toe to quickly tip it off the floor and back on and it comes on every time. Not what the instructions say, but it's no big deal.

Finally, I like the look of these. Very big, bright readout for the weight and the scale has a good look too. I'm not into contemporary/modern, but these don't overdo that look. They fit nicely.

Great job for this company - keep it up!
Very pleased with this scale

I had been using a mechanical scale for years and it was OK. It just got to the point where it was a pain to level it every day and make the dial hit zero just right.

But even then, the weight was off by about 5 pounds in the "bad" direction.

This EatSmart scale is very accurate and gives me the motivation to keep on improving my eating and exercise habits since I can see exactly how much I've lost each day as it shows pounds and pound increments.

It is a tad difficult to turn it on sometimes, but you I've found that instead of tapping it on the top, a little bump on the side works as well.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy this item again or recommend it to friends.
Easy to clean, more accurate than similarly-priced models.

I bought this scale to replace an electronic scale I had bought from a retail store 5 years ago for about the same price. I had two big beefs with my old scale: Firstly, it was apparently accurate only to within 3 pounds or so, and the reading would often vary even if you just stepped off of it and immediately stepped back on. Secondly it was very hard to clean, as small hairs and dirt got caught in rubberized crevices.

The EatSmart scale solved these problems. Anecdotally, the scale seems to be accurate to within 0.5 pounds or so. I tried picking up small items with a known weight - shampoo bottles, towels, etc, and stepping on the scale with them in hand. The number always changed by approximately the right amount. Granted, the number didn't always change by the EXACT weight of them item, but as I said I believe the total weight shown was always correct within 0.5 pounds, which is pretty good for a $30 scale.

EatSmart advertises that their scale shows a consistent number if you step off and then weigh yourself again. This is true. It does seem, based on my own observations, that the device may accomplish this in part by ignoring a second reading that is slightly different than the first one. Picking up a 4oz object (0.25 pounds) and stepping on the scale again did not result in a different number. This is understandable however, and is likely done so as to avoid confusing people. Picking up an 8oz object and stepping on the scale did indeed increase the displayed number by 0.5-0.6 pounds.

The surface of the scale is a solid piece of glass, and is therefore easy to clean. I imagine whatever you do to clean your bathroom mirror would work just as well on the scale. It feels cold under your bare feet in the winter, but your bathroom floor probably does too. There is a switch on the bottom to switch between metric and English measurements. The scale display has a precision of 0.1 pounds (although again, the number may be off up to 0.5 pounds, anecdotally). It runs on 4 AAA batteries, which are included. I thought the use of AAA batteries was nice, because my previous scale ran on an unusual button-cell battery that was a bit harder to find.

All in all, if you're looking for a budget bathroom scale that is easy to clean, attractive, and more accurate than most of the competition at its price point, the EatSmart scale is a solid choice.

This scale looks good and only has one function. That is to give you an accurate weight. It is high tech in looks and the display is great. If you are one who stores the scale elsewhere from where you use it, then it probably will annoy you. If it is moved it has to recalibrate. I see that it weights itself at 5 LBs and if you move it and don't recalibrate it it shows 5 LBs. Actually it is very easy to calibrate. Step on it, let it cal, then get off and the next weight is your actual weight. I did it 10 times and it showed the same weight for me. It does not do body fat, etc but that is not what I wanted. I just wanted to see my weight. I weighed myself yesterday and went to the doctor. Same clothes wallet everything. Doctors scale says same weight. So I am happy with it.

2) It is very attractive, accurate, and fast.
3) It is the first scale I have ever owned that indicates weight within .2 pounds.
4) It is rather fun to weigh myself in kilos and stones as well as pounds.
5) I like it very much.

My original review is below but have done a 180 on how I now feel about this scale. Immediately after posting this review someone from the company contacted me to help figure out what was wrong with the scale. We determined it was defective. I returned the scale to Amazon and the company sent me a replacement. I was skeptical when I received it but EVERYTHING I didn't like about the first scale received was resolved with the new product.

It works great. The weights are consistent and accurate. The "tap" to activate the scale works great. It's reliable. Best of all, I'm pleased to know the customer service at the manufacturing company is top-notch. I've also bought a kitchen food scale from this company and it's been perfect from the start. I do now highly recommend this product. It was worth the slight problems I had because now I have an incredibly great working and good looking scale.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

What a huge disappointment. It looks really good and feels very stable when standing on it, even with your feet to the edges.

However, the scale in grossly inaccurate. I can weigh myself three times in a row within 30 seconds of each other and it gives me measurements up to 5 pounds apart. I tried placing my feet in the exact same spot each time, too, to see if that is the problem but it's not. And it's even worse if you put your feet in slightly different spots on the scale. At 6:00 in the morning, should I really have to be that careful about where I place my feet?

Returning today.

EatSmart Digital Bathroom Scale

Reviewer: D. Iverson,
We recently decided to replace our old digital bathroom scale which was becoming less and less reliable. The new EatSmart scale that we ordered has a large display which makes it very easy to read and it gives repeated accurate readings. When we noticed that a more forceful tap was necessary than had been needed with our old bathroom scale, I wrote to EatSmart and received an immediate explanation. It turns out that it requires a harder tap to minimize unintended activation to ensure longer battery life and also to make repeated readings more accurate. So it really is a feature rather than a problem. We're very satisfied with both the product and the customer service.

An email to the company got an immediate response from the VP - on New Year's Day! - and a new scale was shipped and received on 6 January. The second scale works just fine. Even with the initial problem, that kind of service deserves applause.

I weigh 215 (was 255 in Sept.) and 6'3". Mom had difficulty seeing her weight in our old counselor mechanical scale. It served us well for many many years. We brought this scale before the new year because it has a larger surface area to stand on for me and a very easy to read over sized digital read out for her. Since it reads in .2 increments you can really know where you stand with your weight loss program.
We enjoy it very much.

Tip: The first time you use it follow the instructions to first tap it with your foot and wait a moment for it to set up.

Since I wrote my last review I was contacted by William Geronimo of Eat Smart products and I have to say that I was very impressed with how they responded to what I had to say. The first thing that he did was offer me a new set of scales and informed me that less than 1% of their scales were defective. I was glad to hear from him because I didn't have the box etc. to send the old one back to Amazon. I was impressed that a company was so willing to stand behind their product, we just don't see enough of that these days!

I liked the scales appearance to start with. These are great scales, they look good and are easy to use and keep clean. We are the kind of people that buy a new set of scales maybe every 10 to 15 years and to be able to get such a nice set of scales for what these cost is unbelievable!

I would also recommend a friend to purchase a set of these. The thing I like about them is that every time that you get on them you'll weigh the same unlike our old ones that you need to step on four or five times to try to figure out how much you weigh.

Thanks again to Eat Smart Products and you can rest easy if you purchase it, if you aren't satisfied I would just about guarantee that the company would work to make you happy!

This scale is accurate, easy, simple, attractive, and inexpensive. I pondered all of the other scales and tried to decide did I want "to know my body mass", I know I'm a mass, water weight, my head weight? No what I wanted was my accurate weight, period. By the way, my cat learned quickly he could touch the scale and turn it on, he likes the blue light. I guess battery life might be an issue.

This is such a terrific bathroom scale, at such a great price, I'm kicking myself for putting up with my old, piece-of-crap analog for so long. Very sturdy; nice, large platform; large, well-lit, easy-to-read display. The bad news is, the old scale was off by over five pounds, in the "right" direction - so when I first stepped on the new one, I got a bit of a shock! I then tested it by weighing my cat. Sure enough, he weighed exactly the same as on the big, expensive scale at the vet's. Rats. But at least I'm assured I got a good product. So, it's carrots and cottage cheese for lunch, for a while!

This is GREAT!

I ordered this scale as a result of all the reviews I read. What sold me on this scale:
1. Excellent customer service from the company (haven't had to use it, but glad to know it exists)
2. Nice big bright number read out.
3. The read out flashes when finshed so you can step off the scale and read it rather than trying to contort yourself while still standing on the scale.
4. PRICE!
5. Don't need the fat and water read outs. And really who does, when they are not all that accurate anyway?
6. Weighed myself 6 consecutive times standing on the scale as many different ways as possible and received the exact same number each time!

I HIGHLY recommend this procduct!

This is a great deal for a digital bathroom scale. The scale is quite accurate and precise (gives the same reading if you try it multiple times in a row). The display is great and the scale is easy to use. I would highly recommend it.

Great scale. Great seller. Great product. The true test of any product is the company behind it. I had a very minor issue which was resolved quickly, courteously and without any cost to me.

The scale is good looking. Easy to read. Accurate and consistent. And the price is great too. What more can you ask for? I highly recommend this item.

Ok, so not only does this scale give me the same reading every time (sadly enough), it also measures very small weights (my dog is 3.8 pounds, and I only know this because this scale is so sensitive). The price wasn't bad, and the batteries came with it. Great Product!

I bought this scale some time ago and after noticing inconsistent results I left an initially negative review of the product. Within a day of leaving the review I was contacted by a representative of EatSmart.

He explained that the product I bought was atypical of the results that most people saw, and he was so confident that it was true, he offered to send me a new scale free of charge. Naturally I accepted and received a new scale just a few days later. The new unit works extremely well, and I've been very satisfied with it for months now.

I've never bought a product from a company who is as attentive to their customer service as EatSmart obviously is. I recommend this product to anyone considering buying a bathroom scale. EatSmart is a great company with a great product.

Picked this up based on other recco's. I have not tested it for accuracy (it seems dang accurate though) but I can state it is very consistent. Unlike other scales I've had which can swing 4 or 5 pounds over 3 weighings this one stays within a much tighter range (.2 pounds or so).

It is a good price for the value I am getting.

I just bought this scale and it does what it suppose to do. I was looking for a digital scale for a while now at a good price and i saw this deal. The display is huge, very easy to read even without my contacts in. I weigh myself before heading to the gym, and i weigh myself again at the gym and the readings look accurate.

What can you say about a scale? It either works or it doesn't. This particular EatSmart Digital Scale is probably the best scale I've ever used for a multitude of reasons. It's sturdy, for one. The top portion of it is heavy-duty glass and can support up to 330 pounds. It also has an ultra-modern, hip look to it that actually adds to the decor of the bathroom, unlike some of the ugly off-white scales I've used in the past.

The backlite LCD screen is perfect, as well. I can stand on it without having to squint to see the numbers and can do so without my contacts/glasses on. To start the scale you have to tap it and sometimes it's takes more than one tap to get it started; I guess I have to press harder than I'm expecting. Once you tap it, the scale will adjust and then you can stand on it and it will give you your weight to .2 lbs. Very specific. It's also been incredibly reliable; unlike some scales, the weight never changed every time I stood on it. I even ran a test, like anothe reviewer here, and drank 16 ounces of water and, stepping on the scale, it changed appropriately.

If you're looking for a decently priced, reliable and attractive scale, this is definitely a worthy purchase. I'm very happy with it.

The blue backlit oversized display and the unobtrusive design make the ugly old bathroom scale a thing of the past. Easy to use and clean. Accurate (we compared to a doctor's office scale) and sturdy this scale is a hugely better value than the "big-name" digital bathroom scale.

Reviewer: tbone,
I originally rated this 5 stars but now would reduce it to 3 if I could. The scale is not as accurate as i originally thought as I am seeing weight fluctuations (8 ounces +) if I weight myself and then check it 5 minutes later.

Earlier review:

In my experience, most scales are total crap, even the expensive ones. I have wasted so much money on scales. The digital ones are the worst. You step on them and get off and and get on them again they give you a completely different weight. The analog ones constantly creep away from zero.

This is scale is different though. It really is accurate. It seems to be accurate to the ounce. It's also very stylish and provides a lot of standing room. It is easy to read.

My only complaints are you do have to give a little more than just a tap to get it on. I give it more of a thud with my foot and it works fine. Also, it came with a sticker on the glass that was a little bit of a pain to remove. Small issues though.

Best scale I have ever used, by a very wide margin.

The EatSmart digital bathroom scale is great value for the money. Although other scales were available on the market with more features and costing more money all I needed was a simple bathroom scale that I could count of for precision. The EatSmart scale delivers just that. Its blue backlit screen is easy to read and the clear glass design is a stylish addition to my bathroom.

Most important though is the outstanding level of customer service that EatSmart provides. When I experienced an issue with my scale I contacted them and they sent me a replacement scale overnight. Their customer focus and issue resolution exceeded all of my expectations. This is a company that stands by theur products.

This scale was everything I expected. It came in very promptly and needed no setup. I simply put it in my bathroom and hooray! lol... It looks and feels and IS very sturdy. The design is awesome and the screen definitely lives up to the promise of easy reading. The accuracy is also astonishing! I don't think I will ever go to another scale again. The only issue I have had with it is that it is a little slow to respond sometimes to my taps, but it takes getting used to! 5 out of 5 stars!

We have had this scale for several weeks, and it seems to do a very good job. I compared it to scales at a Weight Watchers meeting, and there was only .2 difference, which is virtually the same. They are easy to use. I haven't had the trouble some people reported with turning it on. Just lift it slightly off the floor with your toe, and it activates. We keep it standing against a wall, and just lifting it to the weigh-in spot turns it on. It looks good, and I thought the price was very reasonable.

If you are looking for the most accurate and easy to read bathroom scale look no further!! This is so accurate and right on the money every time... I use it on a tile bathroom floor with no problems turning it on with a tap of my foot. I have nothing but great things to say about this scale. The readout is bright and easily readable without my glasses on . I'm greatly impressed with this fantastically accurate scale and the best part is there is no more guessing. I can't believe the price on this scale. Believe me I've paid 2 or 3 times this for a scale and all were returned because they were inaccurate. I understand they are made here in the good Ole USA and thanks for keeping the jobs here in the USA...Great product... GREAT value.... GREAT scale... not much else to say. I have had no problems turning it on by tapping my foot on the red dot on the scale. However if you are having any problems with it just lift it up slightly and set it back down and then tap again. Like I said I've had no problems with tapping and getting the readout right away..!!! Thank-you for a fantastic well made product.. God bless you and your wonderful company.. I will be back one day to get that kitchen scale too. I just can't believe the price on this scale!!! It out performs any that I've had in the past... GREAT BATHROOM SCALE!!! Purchase this scale if you really want to know what you weigh .... if not well then go buy any of the other ones out there and be disappointed... The choice is yours!!! I Choose... EATSMART!!!!

I recently purchased two of these scales and have been nothing but satisfied!! It is attractive and accurate and "fun to show off to others"! My parents move theirs each morning and they were seeing a 4.4 on the screen. We did not realize that the scale calibrates itself each time it is moved and that 4.4 is the weight of the glass! They now keep their scale is one spot and the weight amount is right on the money! My husband and I have never weighed ourselves so much! This is too much fun! Before I purchased the scales I read where someone thought it was made with inferior materials(???) They couldn't have been speaking about this scale! It has a classy look and solid build. The oversize platform is great for my husband's size 12 feet, comfortable all the way around. With the Extra large 3x5 Backlit Display, you can weigh in the dark if you want to, clear as a bell to view the numbers. Someone also mentioned the difficult removal of the instructions set on the front.....When mine arrived, I sat down and carefully, slowly pulled the sticker off and NOT one piece of adhesive or sticker stayed attached! Beautiful. We love this scale.

cons: turns on very easily. if i pick up the scale to move it and i set it down, the scale will turn on.

it doesn't work on carpet, you have to have a flat, hard, smooth surface for the scale to work.

Our old scale died and we were looking for a replacement which was 1) very accurate and repeatable 2)easy to use and 3) easy to read. After reading many reviews on a variety of products, picked the EastSmart Digital Bathroom Scale. I can get on it 5 times in a row and each time get the same result. Of special interest is the display, which is very easy to read. We expect many years of service from this scale. It was delivered very quickly and well packaged. They got this product right.

Thanks to J. Rogers "Gadget Guy" I was able to show my 70 year old father how to use the scale. The scale is accurate, sleek, and modern. The glass is sturdy holding my father, who is a large man. He shakes and it is hard for him to stand on the scale, and sometime he gets a err, but he knows it is because of his shaking and moving of the scale, not the scale its self. At first when he started the scale, he had moved it and it gave him an error and so he would move it again. However because of J. Rogers "Gadget Guy" He knew to be patient with the errs until he got the scale to work right. {Place it down and keep it there} When working with today's technology it takes patients to get things to work, but once it works, it will work beautifully. When deciding on this scale, go for it. It is a great scale. You can even see the reading in the dark if you need to. It is sturdy, and has a sleek, modern design. Great for any bathroom. If you are confused on how it works once you get it, take a look at J. Rogers "Gadget Guy" 's review and you will be clearly informed on how this fantastic scale works. No need to look any further for a scale. This is the ONE!

I am really impressed with this scales (batteries included!).
My wife loves the non-intrusive appearance of the tempered glass... can be used on any color floor and you see the floor, not the scales. And she loves the fact that she gets a repeatable and accurate reading of her weight, unlike the old Health-O-Meter digital with no linearity or zero adjustments.

They measure linearly with our TANITA scales within 0.4 lbs or should I say the TANITA agrees within 0.4 lbs of the Eatsmart.
The Eatsmart blows away our +5 to +13 lb Health-O-Meter digital scales, which I finally pitched after receiving family complaints of inaccurate, non-repetitive weights for the past 10 years.

Even more impressive.. I can weigh objects (free weights) in the range of 5 to 15 lbs (maybe lower - have not tried) accurately without having to step on the scales, weigh myself, then pick up the object and subtract the difference!

The only problem now is getting my cats to stay still long enough to weight them without having to hold them while weighing myself!!!
Good Scale !

Reviewer: H. Wang,
The biggest advantage this scale has over my old scale Omron HBF-400 Body Fat Monitor and Scale is consistency. Once set up, not matter how many times I step onto it, it always has the same reading. The readings on my old scale can sometimes vary several pounds, which is really frustrating. Even though it does not support body fat measurement and BMI calculation, the consistency of reading trumps all other features.

It is also stylish and solidly constructed.

Suggestion for improvement: make the red "Tap Here" sticker on glass easier to remove.

Overall, a much superior no non-sense scale comparing to other similar products.

As advertised: a simple, accurate, repeatable scale

Reviewer: Richard Rubinstein,
I'm very pleased with the EatSmart Digital Bathroom Scale. I've had it now for about three weeks. It replaced a mechanical-dial scale, and now I get consistent, accurate results. Get on the scale twice and get the same answer: amazing. I appreciate that the scale isn't loaded down with useless and silly features--it doesn't have memory, it doesn't calculate fat percentages, and it doesn't provide menus, it doesn't sync with my computer. For me, this is a real plus. It's as simple to operate as it could be, looks nice, and works. It's not that I object to complex products that integrate with the rest of my life, but that's not what I need in a bathroom scale.

I would have preferred that the backlight were not blue, my only quibble with the scale's design. Blue light makes text less legible (if more cool), and I use the scale without my glasses. Fortunately, the numbers are entirely big enough to read even under these adverse conditions.

If you want a simple, inexpensive scale that does one thing well--telling you your weight--this is the one!

This was a gift for my 80+ year old Mom

Reviewer: SilverstreakM, Windsor, Ontario
I bought this scale for my Mom who is in her mid 80s (years not pounds). I was a little concerned because of some user comments about the difficulty of turning the scale on. I tested it myself and had no problem. The fact that it gives readings to 1/5 of a pound is great, and it consistently gives the same exact reading if you step on it multiple times in the same session. I called my Mom a few days after she began to use it and she is thrilled. She says it is very attractive, not too thick and she finds it easy to turn on, use and read. All is good!

One minor concern on my part though, related to the different units of measure. The scale has a switch that allows you to change the readout from lbs to kg to stone. Of course I had to try it. I noticed that those three figures did not match the mathematical equivalents when starting with any of the units of measure. I'm really not sure how that could be, since I assume it is just a mathematical formula programmed into the computer chip. I checked it both on a conversion site and also by doing my own conversion using the appropriate mathematical formulas. Apparently "stone" is a bit of a moving target, but pounds to kg should be quite precise. Not a big deal but surprising non the less. I did not check the scale for accuracy; but, if it was accurate in pounds, it could not have been accurate in kg or stone, and vs vs versa. For most people, however, as long as the scale is consistent (which it is), the direction in which they are trending is more important than the exactness of their weight on any given day.

One other thing to be aware of is that the batteries are shipped in a small space on the underside of the Styrofoam packing material. I purchased new batteries and did not notice the originals until I was repacking the unit to give to my Mom.

All in all, I think this is a great unit at a very attractive price, and I am considering ordering another for use in our own home.

I ordered this scale as a Christmas gift for myself and my husband. One of the reasons for ordering was the great comments here about customer service for this product. After opening and setting up the scale we could not get it to calibrate. After Christmas we called the company directly to see what our options were for fixing this problem. The gentleman I spoke with apologized, acknowledged there was definitely something wrong with the scale and offered to send us another scale saying he would calibrate the scale himself before sending out to us. We received a new scale less than a week later and when we set it up, it was ready to go. Bill Geronimo the company President seems to know a lot about customer service. I highly recommend this company and product and would definitely buy from them again.
